Description

I had some friends over the other night for food, wine and fellowship.  We we in the backyard.  They saw my rigs and of course wanted to see and touch.  It was dark and I told them to look up in the skies and tell me how many stars they could count.  Then answers were all less than 10 (not counting Jupiter) as bortle 7.  Having recently seen and been inspired by Mike Feigenbaum’s fine image of M71, #https://www.astrobin.com/uvsm8n/,  I thought, OK, I’ll take a 1 minute sub with my OSC to show and tell.  When the first sub came up, everyone was speechless. 🤪  I run the ASIAIR with an iPad with a great display.   What fun this is!   I went on capturing over several nights.  A small cluster which could use more focal length.

From Wikipedia:  M71, 13k LYs away, is a globular cluster in the constellation Sagitta. It a very unusual globular cluster in that it lies very close to the plane of the Milky Way galaxy.  M71 is designated as a very loosely concentrated globular cluster.
